Chances Casino Review – Mission, BC

chances casino mission

Summary

Chances Casino in Mission, BC is a super small casino location in an industrial part of town, located in a strip mall of sorts with a Value Village on one side and a factory tool store on the other. While this would not be a travel destination for the casino, it works as a locals casino, barely. Find out what I thought of Chances Mission below. As always at the end I give it a CCG Score!

Game Selection & Diversity

Slots

Chances Mission is listed as having “100’s of machines” which I would say is an outright lie. I would estimate in the low 100 range is a more accurate tally. The machines range are a mix of newer, asian themed machines generally to older style machines. While I was there they were installing 2 James Bond 007 new style machines which will be a nice addition. There’s an adequate selection overall.

Bingo

Chances Mission has a dedicated bingo area which I would say is the main draw of this location. I didn’t count but I would guess close to 100 seats. The bingo area looked clean and spacious. At the time of this article they offer bingo Wednesday thru Sunday at 5pm and 6:30pm. As we visited during the day we did not get to see the bingo in action. It probably is a decent bingo location for anyone within a 20 minute drive.

Blackjack (video)

Chances Mission only has 1 table game available, Video Blackjack, common in several casinos worldwide. Players are sit at one of 5 video terminals, all playing against the video dealer. The video dealer will prompt you with sayings such as “place your bets”, “insurance?”, “dealer has 18”, “want to play blackjack?” and more, to make the experience as real as you can playing against a screen.

A great option for people who want to try blackjack but are intimidated to play at a live table their first time, this is as close as it gets.

As of the time of this post, the video blackjack is tucked away just outside the bingo area in the far back corner. The casino isn’t that huge, so finding it won’t be a problem.

Food Options & Experience

There are basically 2 food options at Chances Mission: “The Lounge” or vending machines. It isn’t good.

Basically I would describe The Lounge as a glorified cafeteria. The prices are restaurant level though, so I would say just don’t bother. Just another thumbs down for this casino.

Staff Friendliness & Helpfulness

I’ve been to Chances Mission twice, and both times the staff were less than friendly. The entry way security guard both times had a sour look on their face and just starred at me as I said a friendly hello. The same goes for the 1 floor person walking around, a nice hello from me was greeted with a dead eyed stare. The cage cashier was friendly enough.

Comps Program

Chances Mission is part of the Encore Rewards program. It’s administered by the BC Lotto Commission, and basically is the rewards program all the BC Casinos use. The pro to this is your points carry from location to location, making it easier to rack up rewards if you do visit several casinos in BC (like the Canadian Casino Gambler team!)

It’s fairly easy to redeem any free play you have accumulated through playing on any of the slot machines, just enter your account pin on the touch screen and it will show you what you can convert to free play.

They also run several promotions through the year, such as free play on your birthday, free $10 when you initially sign up, entries into drawings, etc.

Cleanliness

I’ve visited this casino a few times and overall I’d say it’s clean. The one dead faced floor person at least does their job of keeping the place neat.

Location

The location isn’t great at all unless you are already in Mission. Mission isn’t near a major freeway, and when you do get there, it’s in a sketchy part of town sandwiched between a Value Village and a tools store. Both times I visited there were questionable characters hanging around the parking lot, and this was the middle of a week day. I honestly wouldn’t go near this place at night.

Conclusion

Unless you are really dying to gamble and are within a 5 minute drive, don’t bother. It’s in a sketchy area, the staff are rude, the place is small, food is junk and really I see no reason to go here.
