Unfortunately more and more Canadian banks are making it difficult to use debit and credit cards to deposit at online Canadian casinos. That makes it harder for Canadian casino players to get money into or out of an online casino. Many credit cards don’t work, debit cards won’t work, and PayPal won’t handle those transactions at all. In fact if you ever find a casino that does accept PayPal, run far away. They are just going to take your money and you have no chance of getting it back. This article will cover your options for making deposits and withdrawals.
1. Canadian Credit Cards
Even though we just said most Canadian banks won’t allow you to use your credit card, give it a try! It might work and if it does, it’s an easy on ramp to online Canadian casino gambling. If it doesn’t work then you can try something else, but if it does work, then you are ready to gamble!
They may or may not work. It will depend on your bank and credit card issuer, as well as the casino itself. Also, a card that works one day might not work the next. (But then it might start working again in the future.) I’ve had success at one point or another with cards from Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, TD Bank and CIBC, but not every time. Like we said, give it a try. At worst it gets declined, and you try another method.
Note that you might have to pay a fee (5% is common) to use your credit card. Blame that on the tactics that online Canadian casinos use to disguise the transactions so that banks don’t block the use of the card. Usually they process your card as a business other than a Canadian online casino. So when you see a charge from PetStore123.xyz that is most likely your Canadian online casinos way of fooling the credit card processor.
2. Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrency
If your credit card doesn’t work, most casinos now accept Bitcoin and other cryptos like LiteCoin and Ethereum. This isn’t meant to be a full tutorial on crypto , but we will warn you to do NOT send your crypto directly to an online casino in Canada from an exchange such as Coinbase. First, buy you bitcoin or crypto at Coinbase. Then transfer to an intermediary wallet like Trust Wallet or BRD. THEN send your crypto to your favorite online Canadian casino. The same goes with withdrawals, don’t go directly from online Canadian casino to Coinbase, they will close your account if they are suspicious.

3. Instant Check or e-Check
Some casinos let you easily deposit money by just typing in your bank account number. Also referred to as an ABA transfer. They withdraw the money from your account as though it were a check. You might be rightly wary of giving an offshore online casino access to your bank account, which is why you should do this only with established, trusted casinos. All of our casinos are licensed, verified and trustworthy!

As I mentioned in the Credit Cards section above, Canadian banks try hard not to handle online gambling money. So there’s a good chance they’ll reject the transfer, and there’s a good chance that your online casino of choice won’t even offer this deposit method in the first place. It is worth trying though if you are really wanting to get money directly from your bank to an online Canadian casino.
4. Western Union or MoneyGram (“Money Transfer” on the Casinos)
This really isn’t your best option. It’s time consuming, you’ll have issues sending any large amounts, and these companies. are getting more and more difficult to use for any transaction, regardless of online Canadian casino gambling. I would recommend about any other method.
5. Wire Transfer
Wire transfers are quick and great for big amounts. You’ll probably have to pay a fee, approximately $35 to $50. It is a great way to transfer large sums of money in Canada, and your bank can not decline a wire transfer. They may ask questions though if it is out of the ordinary for you. If you usually keep a $500 to $1,000 balance and all of a sudden receive $20,000, you might get some questions.
6. PayPal or Similar – They Are NOT Legitimate Options
PayPal and similar services used to allow you to fund your online Canadian casino accounts. These are no longer an option! Everyone used to use PayPal, then PayPal stopped handling gambling transactions almost a decade ago. Any casino in Canada online that says they accept PayPal is only going to steal your money and isn’t a legit casino, please don’t use them. PayPal wont protect you in these cases as they explicitly say in their Terms of Service they are not to be used for Canadian online gambling casinos.
Cashing out
How do you get money out when you win big? The easy and most popular way is to have the casino send it to you as Bitcoin, and most casinos are moving in this direction. Most casinos are also willing to mail you a check, you’ll have to wait about a week. Note that the casino might require that you email them a copy of your ID before your first withdrawal. Don’t worry about this as its standard and they want to make sure the account belongs to you. You should only have to do this once. We recommend using crypto and Bitcoin, and ultimately think in the next decade crypto will be the only option.
Note that if you deposited with e-Check, you’ll have to wait for that deposit to clear before your payout request will be processed. It can take up to two weeks for an e-Check to clear. As well, depositing with a credit card will also mean you’ll have to wait for them to make sure you don’t file a charge back before they’ll send you any payment.
